Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Workhunters ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use Workhunters (the "Service"). By creating an account, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information: Your name, email address, and password when you register.
  • Profile information: Your resume, work authorization status per country, job preferences (location type, experience level, employment type, salary expectations, skills, job categories), and per-country application answers.
  • Third-party credentials: Usernames and passwords for job portal accounts we create on your behalf (e.g., Workday, Greenhouse, Lever). These credentials are stored securely and used solely to submit applications at your direction.
  • Application data: Records of job applications submitted through the Service, including application status and timestamps.
  • Usage data: Log data, IP addresses, browser type, and interactions with the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and operate the Service, including automated job application submission on your behalf.
  • Create and manage third-party job portal accounts in your name and using your information, as directed by you.
  • Generate job recommendations based on your profile and preferences.
  • Send you service-related communications (verification emails, application status updates).
  • Improve and develop the Service.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. Automated Application Submission

A core function of the Service is automated job application submission. When you queue an application, our systems will:

  • Access third-party job portals using credentials associated with your account.
  • Submit your personal information, resume, and application answers to prospective employers on your behalf.
  • Handle email verification and one-time codes required by those portals.

By using the Service, you expressly authorize us to act as your agent for these activities. You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all information submitted.

4. Data Storage and Infrastructure

Your data is stored on Google Cloud Platform infrastructure in the United States, including Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL), Firestore, and Google Cloud Storage. Third-party credentials are encrypted at rest. We use Firebase Authentication for account security.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share your data only:

  • With employers when submitting applications on your behalf — this is the core purpose of the Service.
  • With service providers (Google Cloud, Firebase, Stripe) that process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations. Stripe processes payment information for credit purchases; we do not store full payment card details.
  • As required by law in response to valid legal process or to protect rights and safety.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Third-party credentials are retained until you delete your account or explicitly request removal. Application records are retained to support your use of the Service and for legitimate business and legal purposes.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data (account closure). Note that deletion of third-party portal accounts we created must be requested separately from those services.
  • Opt out of certain data processing activities.
  • Data portability — receive a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.

To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no system is completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Workhunters account credentials.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice in the Service. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
